Built for Dr. Ashok Verma. A traditional jali screen, detailed in a contemporary frame, does the work of shading, privacy and identity all at once.
The challenge
A west-facing entrance with harsh afternoon sun, and a client who wanted a modern house that still felt rooted in Jaipur.
Our approach
A CNC-cut jali screen was placed over the staircase volume — cutting glare, giving privacy from the street, and providing the elevation its single memorable gesture. Deep cantilevered slabs shade the openings below.
The outcome
Delivered in nine months against a nine-month commitment. The client has since referred two further projects.
